Complete and partial dentures

Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. If all teeth are missing, complete dentures are used and if only some are missing, partial dentures are used.

What do dentures consist of?

There are two types of complete dentures:

  • Conventional: Placed in the mouth 8 to 12 weeks after the teeth have been extracted, once the gum tissue has begun to heal.
  • Immediate: performed before tooth extraction and placed immediately after tooth extraction. They require adjustments over time. They are considered a temporary solution until conventional dentures can be fitted.

In the case of partial dentures, a bridge is used to replace the middle teeth, and a denture is used to fill the space. This allows the remaining natural teeth not to change position. Additionally, since the attachments that support the denture are internal, a natural appearance is achieved.
